Coupons & Online Shopping | Organizing

Do you shop online?

The answer is more than likely yes.

I am sure a lot of people do at least a small percentage of their holiday shopping or maybe even everyday shopping online. I like to shop online and find better deals than what some stores may have to offer (Well, perhaps I also do my shopping online because I don't live in the big city anymore.), but I don't usually settle for the price online. I like to find even more coupons and discounts. I also prefer not to pay shipping if I can, because that usually negates the purpose of saving by shopping online. And, I prefer to get even 5-10% off the prices listed if at all possible.

Have you ever wondered what a promotion code is? I almost always search for promotion codes online before making my final purchase. Amazon is one of my go to shopping sites, but they unfortunately don't offer many promotion codes for things I buy. However, I do shop on many other sites and when I have the option to enter a coupon code or promotion code I do a simple search on Bing or GoogleSome online shopping sites offer a coupon code on the main page (especially during the holiday season) for free shipping with the purchase of a specified amount or maybe even another discounted offer. But, for those sites that don't offer such coupons doesn't mean they aren't out there.

If you are purchasing online think about doing a search in your search engine for the name of the site + promotion code (or coupon code). Several sites will be found such as couponcabin, couponmountain, retailmenot, and the list goes on. Some of the coupons are definitely not legit, but a lot of the sites give you the success rate of the coupon and when the code expires. I have had much success with promotion codes and coupon codes when shopping online. And although 5% might not seem like a lot those pennies add up over time.

Will you search for promotion codes on your next online purchase?

K & P | Family

I can't tell you how many times we attempted to schedule a session with these beautiful people. I do believe it has been over a year since we started discussing scheduling a session, but with many miles and traveling hours between us it took a while to make it happen. The weather almost kept us from meeting this time, but the rain held off for just enough time to capture these wonderful images. Kat, I hope the wait was worth it! Enjoy!

A & S | Family

Beautiful brother and sister and the best friends anyone could ask for!

The S Family | FAMILY

Playing a little catch up I'd say. I am all caught up with orders at the moment so I'll play catch up with my blog for the next 5 or 6 posts!

The S Family was super sweet and the little one was just beautiful. He, however, wasn't so fond of either me or my camera (we will say my camera), but my oh my was he precious!

4 weeks new | Newborns

I anxiously waited to photograph this new little one. Her mom made me wait 4 whole weeks to meet her, but I suppose living 5 hours away from 'home' is a good reason to wait. I am so very glad that I finally got to meet Ms. 'E'. She is absolutely precious with those gorgeous little cheeks and those perfect lips. Enjoy your preview. Your gallery will be ready very soon!

Grayson & Melissa | Family

Cold weather is not my best friend, but despite the temperature this afternoon I think we got some really cute images of some dear friends of mine. I am always so anxious to view the images and post a preview for everyone to see. Melissa, I hope being cold for a bit was worth it once you see your images. For now, here's a preview. Enjoy!

Lori & Grayson | Family

New locations are always so fun to shoot photo sessions. I was so glad when Lori suggested using the Waterfowl Museum for their family photos. Despite the mosquitoes I think we got some really quick images that I hope Lori and her family will enjoy.

Enjoy your preview. The gallery will be loaded today :)!

3 weeks new | Newborns

I. Adore. Newborns. The newborn smell, smooth skin, lovable features, just everything about them. As I was holding Baby L my husband said in the background, don't get any ideas. My reply was okay, not yet... So I might not love the sleepless nights and the never ending fatigue that might be felt by all the new parents, but I do adore photographing all those lovable features. One day I will photograph one of my own, but until then I am perfectly content photographing everyone else that will agree to have me come into their home with what seems to be a never ending supply of blankets and gear ;). Thank you to the R family for allowing me to do just that. It was a pleasure getting to know you. Baby L is as precious as can be and I know she will be loved by many.

Lauren | High School Senior

I had so much fun photographing Lauren. She is beautiful, intelligent, talented and she was so natural in front of the camera knowing just what to do at just the right time. I especially enjoyed the fact that she wanted to incorporate her love for cheerleading in her portraits. I tried something new to me and incorporated the high school and aspects of cheerleading into the session. I'm so glad for the opportunity and very happy with the turnout of those images. Not only did we incorporate the school, but we explored around Fort Macon and the beach for a variety of images. The light just before sunset at Oceana was amazing as always and allowed us to get some great shots of Lauren in her All-Star uniform to complete the session. Lauren, I hope you enjoy your images as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Itty bitty Baby A | Newborns

I'm slightly behind on blogging about a dear friend's session with her 2 beautiful children. Baby A was so teeny tiny and weighed in at just under 5 pounds. She was such a joy to photograh and much preferred being swaddled to anything else that day. Big Sister became interested towards the end of the session and I am so glad that she did. The two of them made many beautiful photographs that I hope the family will cherish for many years to come.

Newborn | Sweetness

I'll start by saying that I am very new at photographing newborns, but I can tell you that even before being able to photograph just one that newborns are my new FAVORITE! A very dear childhood friend of mine, along with her family and friends, waited patiently for this little one to make her debut. Here is only a sneak peak of what is to come. I can only hope that I have captured some of her wonderful little features.

"Your Camera Takes Really Nice Pictures"

I'll start off my saying that I am not a professional photographer. I do however aspire to be just that one day... maybe... But... today, I am only an amateur if you would like to call it that. I study and research and try to learn as much as I can about the art of photography and of course my camera (which is the whole point of this post... or it was supposed to be).

I actually really missed all the studying and research just a few short months ago when planning and organizing for something other than photos kind of took over my life for a bit. I wouldn't change that planning and organizing for anything because I absolutely loved EVERY. SINGLE. SECOND. of all that planning. Actually that is one of my other favorite things to do. Wedding Planning. But, I really missed all the time I used to spend learning and growing in this incredibly rewarding hobby of mine.

Recently, I have gotten back into all my studying and I am really excited! I love learning from all the amazing photographers out there in the world, and I only hope that one day I can teach someone new all the things that the professionals have taught me.

Now back to the point of this post. Erin Farrell created a great post on her blog about cameras and pictures. She did a little experiment that you might find interesting. Well, maybe not, but I sure did and I wanted to share it with anyone that would listen. I won't go into detail on her post, but I would love for you to check it out. Very well written and she used a great analogy to help get the point across. The title of the post is “Your Camera Takes Really Nice Pictures”

Senior Sneak Peak

I literally could not wait to upload these images after our session tonight. We finished at about 8pm and it is currently way past my usual bedtime, but I was beyond excited to share just a few. We had to reschedule this session several times due to much needed rain, but I hope that the 'L' family agrees that it was worth the wait. I had many favorites, so this might be a little more than a typical sneak peak. I hope you enjoy!

M&D's sneak peak

I am having some software difficulties that I haven't quite resolved, but I did everything I could to come up with a work around in order to proof a few of the following images. This beautiful day was quite eventful for the happy couple as they had to find a new reception site in less than 24 hours due to a malfunctioning air conditioning unit. I can only imagine how stressful this was for them, but everything managed to work itself out and a beautiful reception was put together by this couples amazing family. M&D, I hope you enjoyed your very special day and your wonderful vacation, and I hope you enjoy the memories that I captured for you. I hope to have more ready for you soon.

So in love...

Ok, so if you are imagining images that would be associated with the title of this post you are probably expecting a sweet, loving engaged couple or a mom with her baby or the possibilities are endless, but you are actually going to get a few images quickly taken with my macro lens. It's sad to admit that I have had this lens for quite some time now, but I've been rather busy with lots of other things i.e. getting married, moving into a new home, settling into a new home, etc. etc. But, I am so in love with my new lens. I have right much learning to do but wanted to play around tonight while I had a few moments of down time. I am extremely pleased with what this lens can do and I'm sure I will only be more excited as I learn how to even use it.

My hubby has done a wonderful job with the up keep in our yard. We have so many beautiful flowers in the garden, and I can't wait to capture each and every bloom on camera. The first image isn't of a flower, but have you ever noticed the amazing detail in someones eyes? If not, then now you have the opportunity... This was a super quick snap, but I can't even believe all the little details.

Ok, so enough of my ramblings. Enjoy the images...

Happy 4th Birthday!!!

It's so crazy how fast time goes by. Yes, I know I say that often, but I swear it was just yesterday when I got the call saying B's mom was in the hospital and would be having him very soon. I wasn't coming home that weekend from college, but plans changed super fast and I was headed east which was always a preference on the weekends. A healthy little boy was born late in the evening on that April day, and now he is 4 years old. Happy Birthday!!!

Ok, so the giveaway... Sassy Designs is giving away a $100 gift certificate to be redeemed at the http://www.sassy-designs.net/ website. The maternal lens has all the information on their recent blog post here.

Go check it out and try to be the lucky winner!
