"Your Camera Takes Really Nice Pictures"

I'll start off my saying that I am not a professional photographer. I do however aspire to be just that one day... maybe... But... today, I am only an amateur if you would like to call it that. I study and research and try to learn as much as I can about the art of photography and of course my camera (which is the whole point of this post... or it was supposed to be).

I actually really missed all the studying and research just a few short months ago when planning and organizing for something other than photos kind of took over my life for a bit. I wouldn't change that planning and organizing for anything because I absolutely loved EVERY. SINGLE. SECOND. of all that planning. Actually that is one of my other favorite things to do. Wedding Planning. But, I really missed all the time I used to spend learning and growing in this incredibly rewarding hobby of mine.

Recently, I have gotten back into all my studying and I am really excited! I love learning from all the amazing photographers out there in the world, and I only hope that one day I can teach someone new all the things that the professionals have taught me.

Now back to the point of this post. Erin Farrell created a great post on her blog about cameras and pictures. She did a little experiment that you might find interesting. Well, maybe not, but I sure did and I wanted to share it with anyone that would listen. I won't go into detail on her post, but I would love for you to check it out. Very well written and she used a great analogy to help get the point across. The title of the post is “Your Camera Takes Really Nice Pictures”

Senior Sneak Peak

I literally could not wait to upload these images after our session tonight. We finished at about 8pm and it is currently way past my usual bedtime, but I was beyond excited to share just a few. We had to reschedule this session several times due to much needed rain, but I hope that the 'L' family agrees that it was worth the wait. I had many favorites, so this might be a little more than a typical sneak peak. I hope you enjoy!

M&D's sneak peak

I am having some software difficulties that I haven't quite resolved, but I did everything I could to come up with a work around in order to proof a few of the following images. This beautiful day was quite eventful for the happy couple as they had to find a new reception site in less than 24 hours due to a malfunctioning air conditioning unit. I can only imagine how stressful this was for them, but everything managed to work itself out and a beautiful reception was put together by this couples amazing family. M&D, I hope you enjoyed your very special day and your wonderful vacation, and I hope you enjoy the memories that I captured for you. I hope to have more ready for you soon.

So in love...

Ok, so if you are imagining images that would be associated with the title of this post you are probably expecting a sweet, loving engaged couple or a mom with her baby or the possibilities are endless, but you are actually going to get a few images quickly taken with my macro lens. It's sad to admit that I have had this lens for quite some time now, but I've been rather busy with lots of other things i.e. getting married, moving into a new home, settling into a new home, etc. etc. But, I am so in love with my new lens. I have right much learning to do but wanted to play around tonight while I had a few moments of down time. I am extremely pleased with what this lens can do and I'm sure I will only be more excited as I learn how to even use it.

My hubby has done a wonderful job with the up keep in our yard. We have so many beautiful flowers in the garden, and I can't wait to capture each and every bloom on camera. The first image isn't of a flower, but have you ever noticed the amazing detail in someones eyes? If not, then now you have the opportunity... This was a super quick snap, but I can't even believe all the little details.

Ok, so enough of my ramblings. Enjoy the images...

Happy 4th Birthday!!!

It's so crazy how fast time goes by. Yes, I know I say that often, but I swear it was just yesterday when I got the call saying B's mom was in the hospital and would be having him very soon. I wasn't coming home that weekend from college, but plans changed super fast and I was headed east which was always a preference on the weekends. A healthy little boy was born late in the evening on that April day, and now he is 4 years old. Happy Birthday!!!
